Letters to a Tanguero
Briefe an einen Tanguero 1 & 2 · Lettres à un tanguero
By Dimitris Bronowski
About this Argentine tango advice book
Letters to a Tanguero is a collection of letters that Dimitris Bronowski wishes he had received from an experienced tanguero when he started dancing. Since nobody wrote them to him, he decided to write them himself and share them with every dancer who is beginning the same journey. The series is published in German as Briefe an einen Tanguero, in two volumes, and in French as Lettres à un tanguero.
Dimitris describes himself as a very curious tango student who loves to improve, loves to ask why and does not mind being proven wrong. The letters gather the advice that would have saved him years of trial and error: about learning, practising, the embrace, the milonga, the people we meet and the search for that wonderful tanda that leaves both partners glowing for the rest of the night. They are short, personal and practical, written as if from an older friend.

Who is this book for?
German- and French-speaking dancers who are starting out or feel stuck, and teachers who want a warm, practical book to recommend to their students.
Why we recommend it
There is something special about advice that arrives as a letter: it feels personal, patient and kind. These books capture that tone perfectly. Instead of rules, Dimitris offers the perspective of someone who has made the mistakes already and wants your path to be easier and happier. Each letter is short enough to read before a class or a practica, and many readers return to them whenever their motivation dips. We recommend them to every German or French speaking beginner, and to teachers looking for a thoughtful gift for students who have just fallen in love with tango.
